Methodology

Preliminaries

Before the team came up with the idea about the Firetruck, there was a brainstorming as to the weight of pursuing a story for the vehicle or featuring the pre-assigned focus on telling the world of our famous and finest firefighters. The team decided to proceed with the truck simple because there were only few published articles about it. Our team wanted to contribute to the world of information, contents that interest some yet constrained with the scarcity of references.

After presenting the matter to our teacher-coaches and depend the title before the project adviser and consultant, the team began writing questionnaires about the SBMA's oldest fire truck. Selected members of the group attended the seminar in order to make a good and eye catching article. After the seminar, the group were given a form to select qualified members who are capable in doing the assigned task.

Then, on October 21, 2011, the group planned to go to the Fire Department Station 7 (location of Firetruck based on our preliminary researches), in Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority to give a request letter or permit to interview. Appointments through the letter were made and the team returned on the dates agreed with the interviewees.

Gathering of Data

On that same day, October 21, 2011, the Fire Chief, Mr. Ranny Magno, was interviewed. He was the only personnel whom the group had talked to as to details of the Firetrucks and our other concerns on the day we planned to just hand the letters.

October 25, 2011, Tuesday, the team conducted an interview with the Reliever Driver Operator (RDO) Victorino De Jesus, the Assistant Fire Chief, Roberto Calderon and Fire Captain, Virgilio Manzano. The group recognized the oldest firetruck that ages 55 years old and now still being used by Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority's Fire Department to put out wildfires. The firetruck was brought to the SBMA Fire Department Station 1. After the interview, respondents offered a fire drill and scheduled October 29, 2011.

The group went to the Fire Department to witness the fire drill. We took videos and pictures while they were performing the fire drill.

After the researchers had completed all the requirements needed, doing a blog site followed. All collected data and materials, including videos and pictures were used. The group exchanged ideas in order to make a good content for the blog site.
